The new $300m suburb of Crace in Canberra will provide approximately 1500 new homes within a suburb based on location, livability and lifestyle.
PBS’s role in the development is to ensure the suburb’s house designs are practical, sustainable and cost effective. In addition, PBS will undertake construction of all homes in the urban precinct. The PBS team also completed construction, fitout and landscaping of the Crace Sales and Information Centre.
The urban precincts will comprise medium-density terrace housing, local shops, community facilities and cafes. Within Crace there will also be playing fields, playgrounds, neighbourhood parks and recreation trails.
The homes in the urban precinct offer a variety of 7 different floor plans, ranging from a 1-bedroom plus study option
through to roomy 4-bedroom family terraces. Each home will have a distinct character when viewed from the street
and careful attention has been paid to planing attractive streetscapes, where the colour finishes and details on each
terrace provide diversity and visual interest.
Using the latest technology and clever urban design, Crace is set to be one of the most environmentally friendly
suburbs in Australia and had already achieved accreditation from the Housing Industry Association under its
GreenSmart program. Crace is the first suburb in the ACT and one of only 15 nationally to achieve such recognition.
