HOME OF THE SYDNEY 2000 OLYMPICS
Newington is a new residential community in the heart of Sydney that was established to house the athletes of the Sydney 2000 Olympics. In excess of 500 homes and numerous apartment buildings have been architecturally designed to include passive solar design principles to increase energy efficiency and all year round thermal comfort within the homes.
Newington provides residents with
spacious parklands, 24/7 security
monitoring and is walking distance
to world class sporting facilities.
The community also boasts its own
shopping centre, marketplace and
primary and
secondary schools.
The relationship between PBS Building
and MLLVC (Mirvac Lend Lease Village
Consortium) commenced in October

1997 when PBS Building successfully
won the tender to build five homes
in the Village.
The product quality and professionalism displayed meant that we were continually offered larger and more difficult packages. By the completion of the village, PBS Building had completed over 130 homes and was second only to MIRVAC in volume across the project.
This project was a showcase for delivering the world’s best practice in all areas of design and construction.
With an end value of over $1 billion dollars it was also the largest project for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
