Fraser Shores Shopping Centre Stage 2 was an
extension of an existing shopping centre located on busy
Boat Harbour Drive in Hervey Bay.
The extension involved the construction of 1350m2 retail
space and 14 extra car spaces. A number of utilities
including the existing fire services required upgrading to
accommodate for the expanded centre.
As part of the extension, PBS was also contracted to
upgrade the existing IGA supermarket which traded 7
days per week
‘till 10pm.
All tenants within the centre, including a Medicare office
and Child Care Centre, remained fully operational. PBS
implemented a detailed safety plan for public access
throughout the construction period.
The project was
completed 6 weeks ahead of schedule
and incorporated extensive use of glazing and
pre-cast
concrete.
